3D Animation
Console-quality animation system
Did you know that iPhone games are being built with Airplay SDK using animation assets from Xbox 360 versions? That's only possible with an animation system that has ideas above its station. Respected global publishers (such as Konami and Capcom) wouldn't trust their key brands (such as Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil) to Airplay SDK unless they knew it could deliver console-quality animation.
Jump your bones
With up to 256 bones per rig, arbitrary placement of keyframes, blending of multiple full-hierarchy and sub-hierarchy animations, hooks for procedural animation, and the ability to separate root bone transform data, Airplay SDK has all you need to get your models jumping for joy. Skeleton and keyframe data can be exported to Airplay from all versions of Autodesk 3DS Max and Maya, or imported from COLLADA.
Under the skin
Skins can provide up to 4 bone weights per vertex. 'Skinning groups' are automatically created at asset import time, allowing the runtime to choose fast paths for vertex groups with less than 4 weights. Skinning data can be exported to Airplay from all versions of Autodesk 3DS Max and Maya, or imported from COLLADA.
